Redmi has officially started teasing the Redmi Turbo 5 for the Indian market, confirming that the company’s performance-focused Turbo lineup is finally arriving in India for the first time. Dedicated teaser pages have already gone live on Amazon India, confirming online availability through the platform.

The smartphone was earlier launched in China in January 2026 alongside the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. Reports now suggest India could receive the same hardware with little or no major design changes.

Amazon Teaser Reveals Design

The Amazon teaser has already revealed:

  • Black color variant
  • Flat-edge frame design
  • Dual rear camera setup
  • LED flash integrated beside camera rings
  • Minimalistic rear panel styling

The phone appears visually identical to its Chinese counterpart.

Interestingly, this is the first time Xiaomi is launching a Turbo-branded Redmi phone in India directly instead of rebranding it under the Poco lineup.

Massive Battery Could Become Biggest Highlight

The Redmi Turbo 5 may become one of the biggest battery-focused smartphones in its segment.

According to the China variant specs, the device packs:

  • 7,560mAh battery
  • 100W wired fast charging
  • 27W reverse wired charging

That battery capacity is significantly larger than most premium smartphones currently available in India.

The device is expected to target users focused on:

  • Gaming
  • Heavy multitasking
  • Long battery endurance
  • Streaming and entertainment
  • Power users needing all-day usage without charging anxiety

Dimensity 8500 Ultra Powers The Phone

Under the hood, the Redmi Turbo 5 is powered by:

  • MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset
  • Up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM
  • Up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage

The chipset is expected to focus heavily on:

  • Gaming performance
  • AI processing
  • Thermal efficiency
  • Battery optimization

This positions the phone directly against:

  • OnePlus Nord series
  • iQOO Neo lineup
  • Poco X-series devices
  • Realme GT series phones

AMOLED Display & Gaming Features

The Redmi Turbo 5 features:

  • 6.59-inch AMOLED display
  • 1.5K resolution
  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • Up to 3,500 nits peak brightness
  • HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support

Additional expected features include:

  • Stereo speakers
  • X-axis linear vibration motor
  • In-display fingerprint sensor
  • IP68/IP69 water resistance
  • HyperOS 3 based on Android 16

Cameras Focus On Practical Use

The phone is expected to feature:

  • 50MP primary camera
  • 8MP ultrawide sensor
  • 20MP front camera

While the device is clearly performance-focused rather than camera-centric, Xiaomi is still expected to include:

  • AI image processing
  • Stabilized video recording
  • Gaming streaming optimization

Expected India Launch & Pricing

Although Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the launch date yet, leaks suggest the Redmi Turbo 5 could arrive in India around June 2026.

Expected India pricing may remain:

  • Under ₹45,000
  • Likely targeting the premium mid-range performance segment

Why This Launch Matters

The Redmi Turbo 5 launch signals a major strategic shift for Xiaomi in India.

Instead of relying only on:

  • Redmi Note series
  • Poco gaming phones

…the company now appears ready to create a separate performance-focused Redmi lineup directly in India.

The bigger trend is also clear:
Smartphone brands are now competing aggressively on:

  • Bigger batteries
  • Gaming performance
  • AI optimization
  • Thermal efficiency
  • Fast charging

…rather than only camera megapixels or thin designs.

And with its giant battery, flagship-grade chipset, and gaming-focused positioning, the Redmi Turbo 5 could become one of Xiaomi’s most aggressive performance phone launches in India this year.
