Mahindra Launching 6 New Petrol/Diesel SUVs In 2026: New Thar, Scorpio & More

ICE Power Still Leads the Charge

Mahindra & Mahindra continues its strong run in the SUV space, with an aggressive product pipeline lined up through 2027. The company is expected to introduce six new models, with internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles forming the backbone of this expansion, even as electric mobility gains ground.

The Mahindra Scorpio-N will receive its first facelift since its 2022 debut, likely arriving by mid-2026. Updates are expected to include redesigned headlamps and tail lamps, refreshed bumpers, a new grille, and updated alloy wheels. Inside, a revised dashboard featuring dual 10.25-inch displays could be introduced, while mechanicals remain unchanged.

The Mahindra Thar is also set for a facelift later this year, bringing its styling closer to the larger Thar Roxx. Expected upgrades include new LED lighting, a redesigned grille, larger alloy wheels, and added features like ventilated seats and push-button start.

Additionally, a Scorpio-N-based pickup truck is in development, primarily aimed at export markets such as South Africa and Australia, with a possible limited release in India.

Electric Vision Meets Future Mobility

Looking ahead, Mahindra’s concept-driven EV strategy begins to take shape. The Mahindra Vision S is expected to transition into a production model by early 2027. Built on the new NU_IQ platform, it will sit above the Mahindra XUV 3XO, offering a more rugged design and advanced technology. Petrol and diesel variants are likely at launch, with a hybrid option to follow.

The Mahindra Vision T, expected around late 2027, could emerge as a fully electric alternative to the Thar Roxx. In that case, customers may get a choice between a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration.

Meanwhile, the production version of the Mahindra BE.07—likely to be called the BE 7—has been slightly delayed and may now debut in 2027. Part of Mahindra’s Born Electric lineup, it will feature a skateboard platform and offer multiple battery options, delivering a range of up to 650 km in higher variants.

Between roaring engines and silent motors, Mahindra’s future rides on a road where tradition meets transformation.

Summary

Mahindra plans to introduce six new models by 2027, led by ICE updates like the Scorpio-N and Thar facelifts. Alongside, upcoming EVs such as the Vision S, Vision T, and BE 7 highlight its future-ready strategy. While traditional powertrains dominate the near term, Mahindra is steadily accelerating toward an electrified and technology-driven lineup.
