Numerous users have taken to X-Twitter to express their grievances, sharing screenshots that demonstrate the declining battery health of their iPhones. One user named Daniel posted an image illustrating the reduced battery health on his device, along with a statement that his battery life has also significantly decreased. He conveyed, “My iPhone 14 Pro’s battery life is remarkably poor. Removed it from the charger at 8 am, and by 12 pm, it’s at 20%. Charged it to 80%. By 4 pm, it’s already back down to 20%.”
Joanna Stern, a columnist from The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), spotlighted the issue with her iPhone 14. She revealed, “My iPhone 14 Pro’s battery capacity has dropped to 88% in less than a year. Is this due to my heavy phone usage, resulting in around 450 charge cycles already? (This is what the Apple Store informed me.) Could it be related to the heat generated by fast charging? Is there a battery-related problem?”
Sam Kohl, who operates AppleTrack, took to Twitter in July to voice his concerns. However, these initial reports indicate that users are witnessing significant deterioration well before reaching this threshold. Rumors suggest that the forthcoming iPhone 15 series will tackle this concern by incorporating larger batteries, potentially increasing capacity by 10% to 18% in comparison to existing models.
