Samsung has begun releasing the One UI 7 stable update for the Galaxy Tab S10 and Tab S9 series across several countries. This update introduces a fresh design and exciting new features. However, Samsung has also issued important precautions to help users avoid home screen issues after upgrading.

Precautions for Home Screen Setup

In a recent community post, the Good Lock moderator shared specific advice for tablet users who plan to update to One UI 7. If you are using certain home screen settings, you will need to make adjustments to prevent any post-update problems.

Two key conditions to check are:

  • Home Screen Arrangement: If you use the Home Up – Home Screen Arrangement feature, change your layout to a vertical format like a 5×7 grid instead of a horizontal one.
  • Widgets Using Full Vertical Space: If you have widgets that occupy the entire vertical space (for example, a 3×7 widget), you must make changes before updating.

Steps to Follow Before Updating

Samsung advises users to take one of the following actions to ensure a smooth update experience:

  • Adjust the home screen layout in One UI 6 by switching from a 5×7 grid to a more horizontal 7×5 grid.
  • Remove any widgets that completely fill the vertical space on your home screen.

By making these small adjustments, users can avoid layout disruptions after installing One UI 7.

Why These Precautions Matter

Without making these changes, users might face ongoing issues with their home screen arrangement after upgrading. Samsung wants to ensure that the transition to One UI 7 is as smooth as possible for all Galaxy Tab users.

If you are planning to upgrade your tablet to One UI 7, it is strongly recommended to review your home screen settings and make the necessary adjustments ahead of time.
