iOS 17.1 was just launched by Apple and its latest new features are certainly most awaited by both fans and users.
Devices supported
This would be the first major update since iOS 17 in September.
Notably it will only apply to the iPhone Xs Max, iPhone Xr, iPhone 11 series, and newer models, along with the second- and third-generation iPhone SE models and also support iOS 17.1.
Here are the list of all eligible iPhones for iOS 17.1.
Here we take a look at the update’s features, modifications and fixes.
AirDrop
AirDrop transfers over a cellular connection is actually possible now.
But the two connected iDevices must be out of the Wi-Fi range.
Apple Music “Favorites”
A new “Favorites” feature in Apple Music allows users to add artists, songs, albums, and playlists which will teach the app the kind of music they like.
This will make them more knowledgeable about what to recommend.
StandBy Mode
In StandBy Mode, Apple updated the Settings menu.
This gives users more control over when the display turns off.
This works in the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max models.
Phone Shuffle
Phone Shuffle, a feature that lets you shuffle a set of pictures for your lock screen, now lets you choose from a particular album.
Fixes
Further, the latest updates also offers fixes for several known issues related to the responsiveness of keyboards, displaying names of incoming callers and displaying image persistence.
It adds Home key support for Matter locks and fixes an issue that may cause the Significant Location privacy setting to reset when transferring an Apple Watch or pairing it for the first time.
The update further optimises the crash detection feature in all iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models.
