As per Amazon Web Services’ report, IT professionals who are skilled in AI shall particularly see higher growth in salary, which can amount to 50%. The report says that improving the AI skills could help the individuals to get higher salaries. Notably, the report further says that this is the particular skill which is also lacking in many of the IT employees.

India’s Path to Future Prosperity – AI Skills

As per the report ‘Accelerating AI Skills: Preparing the Asia-Pacific Workforce for Jobs of the Future’, which was built on the surveys with over 1,600 workers and 500 employers across India, those IT professionals who are in IT and research and are equipped with AI skills might see a salary growth of 54%. 

The report also highlights that increasingly more and more Indian businesses are showing the growing trend when it comes to the AI adoption. By 2028, 99% of employers envision their companies being heavily influenced by AI technology.

As per the report, AI is believed to have massive impact on finance department (97%), IT (96%), R&D (96%), Sales & Marketing (96%), business operations (95%), HR (94%) and Legal (92%).

Both, the employers as well the employees that have been surveyed expressed that they expect widespread use of generative AI tools within the next five years. 

Empowering the Workforce in Generative AI

Generative AI refers to the branch of AI that specializes in the generation of text, images, or other data using generative models, often in response to prompts. One of the popular GenAI tool is ChatGPT.

Even though the employees who excel in this field shall win big, but as per the report, there is a notable gap when it comes to AI skills. However, on the flipside, there is a strong willingness from the workers to address this gap.

The report further highlights the importance of closer cooperation between the government, industry, and educational institutions in order to equip the employees with necessary AI skills to make them future ready.
