In order to continue receiving pensions, all the central government pensioners have to submit an annual life certificate in November.
Although, the center has already permitted the senior citizens aged 80 years and above to file their annual life certificate from October 1 that will provide them an extra window.
How Does Jeevan Pramaan Help?
Basically, Jeevan Pramaan is an IT Act-recognised Aadhaar-based and biometric-enabled Digital Life Certificate which is provided by the government for pensioners to prove that he/she is alive before the pension authority.

For doing so, they will have to ensure that they have a smartphone with a front camera of minimum 5MP and also has internet connectivity.
Besides this, they will also have to make sure that their Aadhaar number is registered with the pension disbursing authority, which includes the bank, post office, or others.

Last Dates To Submit Annual Life Certificate
As we know, the last date to submit an Annual Life Certificate is November 30 unless it is extended by the government.
In the case of the senior pensioners aged 80 and over, even if they submit their life certificate on October 1, 2024, it will still be valid till November 30 next year.
If the life certificate is not submitted then the pension payments will get stopped.
But, in case the life certificate is submitted in a subsequent month then the pension payments will resume.
Please note here that all the arrears till then will also be paid to the pensioner, but this is only if the life certificate is submitted within three years.
Consider a case where a Life Certificate is not submitted for three years and then the pension will be commenced after sanction of the competent authority through the CPAO as per the due process.
