It may seem like the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have been in the public eye for quite some time due to the numerous leaks and teasers, but they have now been officially announced.

Google Pixel 8 Series Officially Launched With Tensor G3 Chip; Price Starts At Rs 76,000! (Check USPs, Specs And More..)

The most significant addition is the Tensor G3 chipset, manufactured using Samsung’s advanced 4nm process.

Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro Officially Announced; Will Come With Tensor G3 Chipset

This chipset boasts a 9-core processor configuration, including a single Cortex-X3 prime core, four Cortex-A715 cores, and another four Cortex-A510 cores.

The standard Pixel 8 comes with 8 GB of RAM, while the Pro version increases it to 12 GB. Both Pixel 8 phones are IP68 certified for water and dust resistance and offer both fingerprint and face unlock features.

The Pixel 8 Pro is equipped with a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO 120Hz OLED display that achieves a remarkable peak brightness of 2,400 nits, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. You can choose from three colors: Blue, Obsidian, and Beige.

On the Pixel 8 Pro’s rear, you’ll find three cameras: a 50MP Octa-PD wide shooter with OIS, a new 48MP Quad-PD ultrawide camera, and a 48MP Quad-PD 5x zoom camera capable of up to 30X Super-Res digital zoom. The front camera is a new 10.5MP unit with a wide field of view.

An exclusive feature on the Pixel 8 Pro is a skin temperature sensor placed next to the cameras, specifically for temperature reading, without any additional photography capabilities.

Battery, Camera, Price

As for battery life, the Pixel 8 Pro houses a 5,050mAh battery with 30W wired charging and 23W wireless charging.

The Pixel 8 is available in Hazel, Obsidian, or Rose colors.

The camera setup on the Pixel 8 includes a new 12MP ultrawide camera with autofocus and Macro capabilities, alongside a 50MP Octa-PD main camera with 8x Super-Res digital zoom. The Pixel 8 also shares the same 10.5MP selfie camera.

In terms of battery, the Pixel 8 packs a 4,575mAh battery with 27W wired charging and 18W wireless charging.

Both the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro come with a complimentary VPN service from Google One and a commitment to provide 7 years of OS and security updates, the longest support in the Android ecosystem. This is notably longer than what is typically offered for iOS devices.

The starting price for the 128GB Google Pixel 8 is €800/$700/INR76,000, while the 128GB Google Pixel 8 Pro is priced at €1,100/$1,000/INR107,000. Additionally, customers purchasing a Pixel 8 will receive free Pixel Buds Pro, and those buying a Pixel 8 Pro will receive a Pixel Watch 2 in Europe and the US, while customers in India will receive a 50% discount on accessories.
