In order to increase visibility on the map, the new design has a simpler home screen with fewer tabs and new pin colors. In a few US and Canadian locations, Google Maps now provides hand-picked restaurant recommendations that are sourced from locals and professionals.

By entering their destination city and swiping up, users may explore lists of recommended restaurants from reliable sources like as Lonely Planet and The Infatuation.

The Trending list, which is updated every week, showcases the most popular new eateries based on the buzz created on Maps. While Hidden Gems highlights lesser-known local favorites, the Top list highlights the community’s all-time favorites.

Google Maps users can now make lists of their favorite locations, which makes sharing recommendations and trip planning easier. With just a tap on “New list” in the Saved menu, users may quickly create a list and add locations they find on Maps.

Users can enhance recommendations with their own reviews and experiences by adding links to social media items in their lists. Later this month, a global upgrade to the list function will be available for iOS and Android smartphones, providing improved sharing and trip planning options.

Google Maps To Use AI

Google Maps now uses artificial intelligence (AI) to scan reviews and photographs and highlight noteworthy characteristics, giving users a short overview of a location before they arrive. AI can recognize foods in images and provide consumers with useful information about them, such as names, pricing, popularity, and nutritional values, to assist them choose what to eat.
