Hyderabad witnessed intense rainfall that severely affected operations at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. According to airport authorities, at least nine flights were diverted due to poor visibility and unfavorable weather conditions.
Among the affected aircraft was an IndiGo flight carrying Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The flight, originally scheduled to land in Hyderabad, had to be diverted as weather conditions deteriorated around the airport. Several arriving flights were either rerouted to nearby airports or delayed until conditions improved.
Airport officials worked closely with airlines and air traffic control teams to minimize disruptions, but the sudden change in weather created operational challenges throughout the day.
Delhi Airport Issues Weather Advisory
At the same time, Delhi experienced thunderstorms and unstable weather conditions that affected air traffic in and around the capital. Both Delhi Airport and IndiGo issued passenger advisories warning travelers about possible delays in flight schedules.
Authorities urged passengers to check the status of their flights before leaving for the airport, as weather-related disruptions could impact departures and arrivals. While flight operations continued, fluctuating weather conditions resulted in schedule adjustments and longer waiting times for some travelers.
The advisories were issued as thunderstorms, gusty winds, and rain swept through parts of the National Capital Region (NCR), affecting visibility and airport operations.
