Ferrari has unveiled the Luce, its first all-electric car, in India, marking a major milestone for the Italian luxury sports carmaker. The four-door electric grand tourer combines a futuristic design with a powerful four-motor setup producing 1,050 PS. With a claimed range of around 530 km and a top speed of 310 kmph, the Luce represents a bold departure from Ferrari’s traditional petrol-powered supercars.

Ferrari Luce Makes Its India Debut

The Ferrari Luce made its India debut at the Universo Ferrari exhibition in New Delhi on October 17, 2026. The event, being held at Yashobhoomi, showcases the company’s latest automotive innovations and iconic performance cars.

The unveiling introduces Indian enthusiasts to Ferrari’s first fully electric production car. However, the company has not announced an official Indian price or confirmed the local sales and delivery timeline.

The Luce is expected to occupy the ultra-luxury segment, with an estimated price of around Rs 8.5 crore before options, according to industry estimates.

Unconventional Design Developed With Jony Ive

One of the most striking aspects of the Ferrari Luce is its unconventional styling. Ferrari collaborated with LoveFrom, the design collective founded by former Apple design chief Jony Ive and designer Marc Newson, to develop the car’s design language.

Unlike traditional Ferrari supercars, the Luce features a four-door body, a coupe-like roofline and smooth, aerodynamic surfaces. Its front fascia features slim LED headlights and a minimalist design, while the rear gets distinctive round LED tail lamps.

The car rides on a staggered wheel setup, with 23-inch wheels at the front and 24-inch wheels at the rear. Its styling has generated considerable debate among Ferrari enthusiasts, with some welcoming the fresh approach while others prefer the brand’s traditional design philosophy.

Four Electric Motors Deliver 1,050 PS

The Ferrari Luce is powered by four electric motors, with one motor driving each wheel. The system produces a combined output of approximately 1,050 PS and 990 Nm of torque.

A 122 kWh battery pack supports the electric powertrain. Ferrari claims the car can accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 310 kmph.

The company also claims a driving range of approximately 530 km on a single charge. Its 800-volt electrical architecture supports high-speed charging, while the advanced powertrain is designed to deliver the performance expected from a Ferrari.

Additional technologies include rear-wheel steering, active suspension and torque vectoring to improve stability and handling.

A Technology-Focused Luxury Interior

The Luce’s cabin combines premium materials with a distinctive retro-inspired design. The dashboard features an aluminium insert, while the steering wheel incorporates elements inspired by classic Ferrari models.

The equipment list includes a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 21-speaker sound system and multi-zone climate control.

The car also offers advanced driver assistance features, a 360-degree camera, parking sensors and multiple airbags. Its rear seats receive dedicated controls for selected cabin functions, reinforcing its positioning as a more practical electric grand tourer.

Ferrari Enters a New Electric Era

The Luce signals Ferrari’s entry into the all-electric performance car market without abandoning its existing petrol-powered portfolio. Its combination of extreme acceleration, luxury and unconventional styling could attract buyers seeking something different from traditional supercars.

However, its success will depend on how customers respond to the design, electric driving experience and premium pricing. For Ferrari, the Luce is an important test of whether the brand’s performance identity can translate successfully into the electric age.

Summary

Ferrari has unveiled the Luce, its first all-electric car, in India at the Universo Ferrari exhibition in New Delhi. The luxury EV features four electric motors producing 1,050 PS, a 122 kWh battery and a claimed range of 530 km. With a 2.5-second 0-100 kmph acceleration time, unconventional Jony Ive-associated design and an estimated Rs 8.5 crore price, the Luce marks a significant shift for Ferrari.
