Disney Star is nearing an agreement to sell approximately 40% of its inventory of advertising spots.

Top sponsor spots in the IPL are anticipated to fill up quickly with advertising.

Even though the April–June quarter was poor, FMCG advertisers are nevertheless anticipated to step up.

Disney Star’s EVP of advertisement sales, Ajit Varghese, noted conversations with brands in the gaming, finance, and FMCG industries. He stated, “Last year and more so this year, we’ve seen a huge interest in gaming and banking and finance services sectors in cricket. Fintech, too, is an important sector. There is also infrastructure and industrial products that will emerge as a strong category. Interestingly, earlier FMCG companies would contribute in single digits to cricket revenues, now they are in the strong double digits.”

Popular sectors of Cricket Advertising

Cricket advertising has attracted a lot of interest from the gaming, banking, and finance services industries. Additionally, fintech is seen as a significant area for cricket advertising. Industrial goods and infrastructure are becoming popular sectors for advertising.

On June 9, there will be a much awaited India-Pakistan encounter at the tournament. In the first round, India will play against teams from the US, Canada, and Ireland.
