The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the syllabi for Classes 9, 10, 11, and 12 for the upcoming academic session 2025-26. The detailed curriculum is available on the official CBSE academic website, cbseacademic.nic.in.

Comprehensive Curriculum Guidelines

According to Dr. Praggya M Singh, Director (Academics), the curriculum provides thorough guidance on academic content, examination syllabi, learning outcomes, and pedagogical recommendations. Schools are instructed to strictly follow these guidelines to ensure uniformity and quality in education.

CBSE emphasizes an experiential learning approach, incorporating competency-based assessments and interdisciplinary teaching methods. The objective is to enhance conceptual understanding and practical application for students.

Implementation of NCF 2023 Recommendations

The curriculum aligns with the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023. Schools are encouraged to apply flexible teaching methods tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners. Additionally, project-based learning, inquiry-driven education, and the integration of technology in classrooms are highlighted to create an engaging learning environment.

CBSE further recommends collaborative lesson planning among teachers to ensure dynamic, inclusive, and future-ready learning strategies.

Upcoming Changes in Board Exams

While there will be no passing certificate after the first exam, students can use their DigiLocker performance record for provisional Class 11 admissions if they skip the second exam.

Those who fail the first exam may still gain provisional admission to Class 12, with finalization depending on their second exam results.

Increased Exam Fees

CBSE also announced a likely increase in examination fees. Schools will collect these fees while submitting the List of Candidates (LOCs) for board exams.

Conclusion

With a focus on competency-based learning and innovative teaching approaches, CBSE’s curriculum changes aim to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Schools, students, and parents are encouraged to review the detailed guidelines on the official website to prepare effectively for the 2025-26 academic se
