Bullet rain, a dream project of the Prime Minister, is already in the pipeline and is developing as we speak. PM has announced running bullet trains in North, South as well as East. The bullet train from Ahmedabad to Mumbai 508 km long route is already in construction.
Bullet Train from Ahmedabad to Mumbai
With total 10 routes throughout the country, PM announced to run bullet trains on 3 more new routes. Prior to this, 6 routes were identified apart from Delhi, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad.
The Ahmedabad to Mumbai train is being developed by the National High Speed Rail Corporation.
For all the 6 routes, feasibility reports have been prepared. In addition to this, the DPR preparation on two of these routes will start after the elections.
Feasibility report of these routes ready
The report has been prepared already for below corridors:
- Delhi-Amritsar
- Howrah-Varanasi-Patna
- Delhi-Agra-Lucknow-Varanasi
- Delhi-Jaipur-Udaipur-Ahmedabad
- Mumbai-Nashik-Nagpur
- Mumbai-Hyderabad corridors.
The DPR of these routes will be made after the elections and shall take a period of 6-8 months to complete.
Trial to Start in Year 2026
After the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route, next corridors to be considered would be Howrah-Varanasi and Delhi-Amritsar.
National High Speed Rail Corporation is for the first time building an undersea tunnel is going to be built in this corridor.
In the year 2026, the trial of the train will start between Bilimora and Surat. In addition to this, land acquisition work has been completed in Gujarat, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Maharashtra.
