One of world’s most profitable company in the world, Apple, is topping another chart!

This time around it is topping the chart in the list of companies which is India’s largest blue-collar job creator.

Apple Leads Blue Collar Job Creation

Ever since the start of the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for smartphones in August 2021, the tech giant Apple entered the scene and ramped up its investments and efforts in the Indian ecosystem and ever since has emerged as a top job provider in the country.

As per the data by government officials, majority of those who are employed are first-time job seekers in the 19-24 years’ age group. Additionally, as per the estimate, about 300,000 people have been employed indirectly.

The officials said that the company directly employs nearly 3,000 people in India but it is the iOS app development that supports more than a million jobs.

Suppliers, Expansion, and Future Prospects

As per the data, the primary job that are created via Apple include its supplier Tata Electronics which makes enclosures for iPhones at its Hosur facility, additionally Salcomp Technologies, which produces enclosures and power adaptors.

Other than these, there are suppliers like Foxlink, Sunwoda, Avary Technologies, CCL Industries and Flex which contribute to the job creation via Apple.

As per the experts, this is not all, since the company is all set to hire more than 10,000 people directly in the peak June-September period for the iPhone factories. This is the time period in which the production will be in its full swing since typically new phones are launched in September and hence there shall be full three shifts to meet this global demand.
