Barely weeks after launch, the iPhone 15 has started experiencing issues that have only grown in numbers.
Software update fix
While the reception has been mostly positive, there have been owners, not just Apple critics who have been reporting problems.
On the bright side, however, most of these can be fixed with a software update which Apple has said is in the works.
Overheating
Users are complaining that the device gets overheated, especially during rigorous gaming sessions.
High-quality 4K video also reportedly causes such issues.
Others have also said that simply charging the device causes the temperature to rise, with some saying that it becomes difficult to hold it during a call.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the issue has to do with compromises that were made in the iPhone 15’s thermal design in order to “achieve a lighter weight.”
Freezing during setup
Some devices have been experiencing hanging issues while trying to transfer data from their previous iPhone.
Apple has rectified it with an iOS update released on launch day.
Users can locate the option to upgrade to the new iOS on setup.
Laggy iOS
Some are complaining of lag or choppiness during use.
This is likely to do with the latest iOS 17.
Also, many apps have likely not released an update for either iOS 17 or the new iPhone which can contribute to the issue.
Easily breakable
The biggest issue so far is durability which unfortunately a software update can’t fix.
Some longtime users are reporting that the newest flagship breaks much more easily than older models.
YouTuber JerryRigEverything released a video where he pressed the back of the device with his fingers and the back of the iPhone 15 quickly cracked.
While the average user wouldn’t intentionally do something similar, it would be a real concern for those who sit on it with it being in their pocket.
In this case, it is advisable to buy a case.
