In a significant move to combat cyber fraud, Bharti Airtel’s AI-powered spam detection system has identified 51 million potential spam calls and 1.6 million spam SMS in Rajasthan within just 10 days of its launch. The AI solution automatically alerts users to malicious links in SMS, providing an essential safeguard against cyber threats.
How Airtel’s AI-Powered Solution Works
The system, auto-activated for all Airtel users at no cost, scans every SMS in real-time using an advanced AI algorithm. It references a centralized database of blacklisted URLs to flag suspicious links, helping users avoid scams. According to Marut Dilawari, CEO of Bharti Airtel Rajasthan, this is the first solution of its kind offered by a telecom provider.
Enhanced Protection for Airtel Customers
The introduction of this AI-driven system is a proactive measure to protect Airtel customers from cybercriminals and scam-related communications. Bharti Airtel’s effort comes in response to the increasing threat of fraudulent calls and messages across the telecom sector.
