Adani Group is all set to bolster its presence in the defence sector and the group is all set to unveil a mega ammunition plant in Kanpur, which shall also be the largest such integrated facility in South Asia.

This comes just after the successful delivery of drones by group to Indian Navy. This reflected its commitment to advancing India’s defence capabilities.
Spanning an extensive 250 acres, the state-of-the-art plant which shall specialize in production of small arms ammunition shall be inaugurated in next month. Backed with an initial investment of ₹1,500 crore, this ambitious venture furthers Adani’s position in the defence manufacturing space.
The plant shall in the start manufacture 7.62- and 5.56-mm bullets which form important components in the assault rifles and carbines globally.
Through this facility, Adani Defence not just wants to cater to domestic requirements but also be a small arms ammunition producer in international market as well.

CEO Ashish Rajvanshi, said that due to the global geopolitical tensions, the demand for ammunition has increased. He said that “Looking at what’s happening on the geopolitical stage in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, demand has shot up in the past two years. We are talking about demands for hundreds of millions of rounds coming from different parts of the world”.
Adani’s Kanpur ammunition plant is killing two birds with a single stone, as it shall contribute significantly to India’s defence capabilities and in addition also shape itself as a global player to be reckoned with.
Due to geopolitical tensions, the demand is increasing in the small arms ammunition space and Adani should do everything in its ability to be carve out its name of its own in this space.
