Adani Electricity has rolled out an innovative solution, the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), aiming to alleviate power cut woes for nearly 30 lakh consumers across Mumbai’s western and eastern suburbs. Effective from February 10, the ADMS promises to drastically reduce power outage duration to just 15-20 minutes, a notable improvement from the current average of 34 minutes. This technological advancement is poised to bring relief to consumers, particularly during peak demand periods such as summer.
Enhanced Fault Identification and Network Efficiency:
The ADMS operates by precisely pinpointing faults occurring between Customer Sub Stations (CSS), crucial components that regulate voltage distribution within housing societies. With over 7,100 CSS scattered across Mumbai’s suburbs, the ADMS enables swift fault localization, facilitating faster restoration of power supply. Additionally, the system boasts the capability to detect potential issues before they escalate into larger power outages, ensuring proactive maintenance and efficient network management.
Kandarp Patel, Managing Director of Adani Electricity, emphasizes the ADMS’s significance in bolstering network resilience and responsiveness, stating, “The ADMS platform is not only relevant for today, but it is future-ready. The system will create advanced situational awareness and quick response to events in the network.” With 60% of substations already integrated with the ADMS, Adani Electricity is committed to completing the project by 2026-27, investing ₹37 crore to enhance network efficiency and minimize disruptions for consumers across Mumbai.
