Fly Mobiles has launched 3 new Android smartphones and a tablet in Indian market and a tablet. While the smartphones are priced between Rs. 4500 and Rs. 12500, the tablet is priced at Rs. 13500.

Looking at these phones it can be easily said that they are nothing different from rest of the phones in the market. They are rebranded Chinese phones so it isn’t unexpected as well.
The biggest issue though is why would people buy these phones?
I mean, these phones offer nothing that is not already present in the market and the name of the company as well is not a brand that is easily recognizable. Also, they are a lot late in the launch of Android phones. The market is very competitive now and coming so late with average products won’t cut it for Fly.
This effectively means that it comes down to competitive pricing and good marketing for the phones to succeed. Unfortunately it is not seen much in Fly’s demeanor.
Along with these phones, a tablet is also released which is 8” with 1.2 GHz dual-core processor with 1024X768p resolution IPS Display. It has Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) in it and is priced at Rs. 13500. The name of the tablet is Fly F8s.
The tablet is plagued with the same issue as the phones. Why would someone buy a Fly tablet at 13500 when one can get a Galaxy Tab around that price as well.
Most importantly, if at any new Smartphones have to come in market, they will stellar specs at rock-bottom prices. That’s the only way a new player can create any kind impact. For example, Fly’s F45s is priced at 12,500 and lacks even quad core processor. It beats me as to why anyone would go for these phones.
Fly – you got to do more if you want to succeed in this cut-throat market… What say?
