[Exclusive Interview] This Location Intelligence Startup Is Enabling Businesses To Trigger Unstoppable Growth
Recently, we interacted with Mr. Ashwani Rawat Co-Founder & Director – Transerve Technologies, and asked him about his company’s vision, and his views on how data and analytics can transform businesses.

- Kindly explain Transerve and its special offerings.
Transerve offers a spatial analysis (Transerve Online Stack) platform to visualize and process the location data for business insights. Transerve Online Stack Platform is available for enterprises and professionals for map visualisations, spatial analytics, and sharing spatial data with their team and public through Map APIs. The system has three tiers called Data, Analysis and Insights. It is pre-loaded with datasets like socio-economic, demographic, environment, agriculture, administrative boundaries, infrastructure, anonymized mobile GPS pings, point of interest and point of addresses for India which can directly be consumed for carrying automated analysis for business insights.
Use cases of the platform have been identified in every industry generating location data from FMCG, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Real Estate, Environment, Policy Research, Agriculture etc.
- Which Industries Transerve is catering to?
Transerve is providing its solutions and data to industries like BFSI, FMCG, Retail, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Real state, Environment, Policy Research, Market Research and Education.
- How do you differentiate Transerve from other location intelligence companies?
Transerve is focusing on providing all ingredients to users to leverage spatial data and analytics for day to day business decision-making on a web platform. The platform is designed in such a way that users do not require training in GIS or location data handling. The company is aiming to make the technology easy to use by business users and integrate with their existing systems like ERPs and Business Intelligence tools.
- What is the estimated growth of Transerve and related details?
Transerve platform will see exponential growth in number of subscribers in 2022 as we have launched the SaaS version of the technology Q1 2022. The growth will be fueled by our partnerships with established and trusted data providers to cater to customers in other geographies. We are closely working with reputed names in various industries to create more use cases on regular basis.
- How can businesses benefit from the customized solutions by mapping/location technology?
Corporations can map and advertise to consumers accordingly. Retail outlets can check whether visits to the outlets are up or down and understand customers’ purchasing patterns.  Â

- What are the technologies deployed by the company to achieve the desired results?
Our current focus is on machine learning tools for handling large volume of location data. Our technology can process billions of locations on cloud and can render the visualizations on web browser. We are moving all our solutions to cloud to make the technology affordable for our customers and solution SDKs will allow developers globally to enhance the capabilities by building modules on top of our platform.
- What kind of challenges industry is facing and how that can be sorted out?
The adoption of spatial technology has increased in last two years but still there is a long way to go for different sectors to use spatial analytics for their business decisions. Many industries are producing the location data but it is not easily usable in platforms like us. We are helping companies to create ETL pipeline to pull in their data on to our platform for analysis and sharing among various stake holders within the organization. There is also a need for accurate geospatial data like point of interests, points of addresses and street level data which can be created by digitization and by democratized data collection exercises. We need enriched maps for serving companies operating not just in large cities but also in smaller cities or rural areas
- Kindly share your future marketing strategies.
Our near-future strategy will remain focusing on accurate location data creating and developing more use cases for various industries. This strategy will help Transerve in creating its user base and help companies in the adoption of technology.

The company is working on the various module on the main platform which includes automated ETL pipelines, spatial data drive, and machine learning models to ease the use for data sharing, integration with existing systems, and for holistic analysis. The DIY functionality on the platform will allow business users to create custom dashboards for monitoring and real-time analysis as new data streams arrives in the platform.
- What is the scope of Geographical Information Systems in India in terms of economy?
Spatial analytics has applications in a variety of industries; we conducted market research and discovered that the location intelligence market in India is worth around INR 5,000 crores. It’s also important to know the distinction between location intelligence and geographic information systems, as they serve different markets.
A product must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Location Intelligence category:
- consume geospatial data in real time,
- Users should be able to manipulate, model, and analyse geographical data.
- Provide the ability to create maps that provide insight into the data’s geospatial implications.
- Allow analysts to use pre-packaged analysis to extract relevant business insights from the data.
While location intelligence platforms are comparable to GIS software in terms of capability, they differ in that they can consume large datasets in real time rather than presenting a historical view of geospatial data.
Data analysts, business analysts, and scientists, rather than surveyors and engineers, use the location intelligence platform.
