Disney-Hotstar Beats Netflix To Remain #1 OTT App In India; Prime, Zee5 Have Better Growth Than Netflix!

JustWatch, an international streaming guide, has released data on market shares of streaming services for the second quarter of 2022 in India.

The site helps people find something to watch that they’d like on various OTT platforms.

Zee5 on the prowl

The hotly contested streaming market in India has seen the rise of local player, Zee5, closing in on Netflix with solely a 3% margin.

Meanwhile Netflix, despite being the most popular streaming platform across the world struggles to hold its 3rd place in India.

Prime Video is going neck to neck with Disney+ Hotstar, trailing by only 4% throughout Q2.

Coming to an increase in market share, Hotstar and Prime Video obtained +2% market shares each, showing steady growth thus far.

The news is not so good for Netflix which suffered a -2% loss.

Indian players Sony Liv, and Jio Cinema also incurred losses of -1% each.
