Baleno Cross
One such is a coupe-styled crossover, which is internally called the Baleno Cross.
This will be unveiled at 2022 Auto Expo in January 2023, while launch could take place in February 2023.
It’s expected to be based on Maruti’s lightweight HEARTECT platform that underpins the Baleno hatchback.
It will also mark the reintroduction of Suzuki’s Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine.
Jimny
Another is the 5-door Jimny lifestyle SUV it will launch sometime in 2023.
This one will be a niche offering as a hardcore body-on-frame off-roader and is expected to break covers at the 2023 Auto Expo.
New flagship
The carmaker is said to be developing a new 7-seater SUV for the Indian market which it will sell through NEXA premium dealership network.
This will be a premium, three-row SUV.
While details are scarce, it is reportedly to be based on the Ertiga’s flexible platform.
This SUV will rival the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700 and others.
Powertrain
The Alcazar rival will most likely be offered with a 1.5L K15C dual-jet petrol engine that also powers the Brezza and the Grand Vitara.
It could also get a Toyota-sourced 1.5L 3-cylinder TNGA Atkinson petrol engine with a strong hybrid tech.
The engine produces 92.45PS of power, while the maximum usable power and torque stands at 115.5PS and 122Nm.
Similar to the new Grand Vitara, the 7-seater SUV could also get Suzuki’s AllGrip AWD system with drive modes aside from Toyota’s e-CVT.
