SpiceJet Launches 26 New Domestic Flights With Boeing 737 and Q400 Airplanes: Check Full Details
The launch of 26 new domestic flights has been announced by SpiceJet on Tuesday. With new and additional flights starting July 22, 2022, the airline will connect Nashik with Hyderabad and Delhi with Khajuraho under the UDAN scheme.
New Flights Under UDAN Scheme
UDAN is ‘Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik’ scheme which is aimed to strengthen poor air routes and also make air travel affordable and convenient.
New direct flights to Nashik from Delhi, Hyderabad to Jammu, Mumbai to Guwahati, Jharsuguda & Madurai, Varanasi to Ahmedabad and Kolkata to Jabalpur shall be introduced by the airline.
The frequency of flights between Ahmedabad-Jaipur, Delhi-Hyderabad, Delhi-Dharamshala and Amritsar-Ahmedabad will be increased by this airline.
The company said that Boeing 737 and Q400 aircraft will be deployed on these routes
After a series of incidents, SpiceJet is under the radar as on July 6, the DGCA issued a show-cause notice to SpiceJet. This came after following at least eight incidents of technical malfunction in its aircraft since June 19.
All these incidents are currently being investigated by DGCA.
New Flights To Provide Convenience & Options
Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), SpiceJet, said that “The new and additional flights will take care of passenger convenience in mind and provide multiple travel options”.
As per the schedule, flights from Hyderabad and Delhi to Nashik, Hyderabad to Jammu (one-stop), Mumbai to Guwahati, Varanasi to Ahmedabad and Kolkata to Jabalpur will operate daily.
The flights from Mumbai to Jharsuguda will operate on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, while flights between Mumbai and Madurai will operate on all days except Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Also, flights between Delhi and Hyderabad will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday while additional flights between Ahmedabad-Jaipur will operate daily.
