Google a while back announced that Gmail will now support audio and video. It will allow users to make calls directly from the Gmail app on both iOS and Android. Gmail previously supported the same via a link on Google Meet, wherein it had to be shared. Google now has integrated it within the Gmail app where one can directly make an audio and video call within the app.
Audio and video call options are now available within the Gmail mobile app.
Google also clarified that the new feature may take more than 15 days to reach all users. Gmail new feature will be available to all Google users — Google Workspace, G Suite Basic, and Business. “Join a call” in the Google Chat app will be redirected to the Gmail app.
