E-commerce major Flipkart announced Flipkart Health+ by acquiring online pharmacy platform Sastasundar.com. With this, Flipkart is now a new entrant into the pharmacy space along with its major rival Amazon and Tata Digital, which recently acquired 1mg. The new Flipkart Health+ will allow users access to online medical consultation, diagnostics and buy medicines. Flipkart acquired a majority stake in Sastasundar Marketplace Limited which henceforth will be called Flipkart Health+.
The company aims to provide affordable and convenient healthcare.
SastaSundar.com has been a big player in the digital healthcare space offering an online pharmacy platform in India with a network of more than 490 pharmacies across the country. It mainly has been procuring medicines and delivering them, and now with Flipkart’s massive and organised delivery network, it can reach newer heights.
Flipkart Health+ will also provide personal counselling on its platform by offering comprehensive healthcare solutions. Flipkart Health+ aims to provide quality and affordable healthcare solutions.
Now coming to what Flipkart Health+ will offer. The company will start with an e-pharmacy first, so users can directly use Flipkart Health+ to purchase medicines online. It will then offer online consultations and one can book diagnostic tests on the platform as well. Flipkart then plans to add new healthcare services with more services in the e-diagnostics and e-consultation domain.
