This IT Company’s Warning To 24,000 Employees: No Salary After December 8 If You Are Not Vaccinated
Be it the United States of America or India, both are lands of freedom. The freedom to think, speak and do as one desires. But this freedom does not come in absolute terms. The definition of it keeps on changing according to time and situations. During the start of the pandemic, many in the USA had opposed the usage of Masks, thinking of it as aggression on their fundamental right to freedom. This was completely in opposition to scientists who were espousing to curb the coronavirus.
There are still various people across the world who are in opposition to vaccines and are delaying taking vaccines because of various reasons. But it looks like only the compulsion from the top will make corporate employees take the shots of the vaccines.
Adobe gives an ultimatum to its employees
U.S. companies have started to give notice to employees for getting vaccinated. This is in order to comply with orders from President Joe Biden which require federal contractors to have all staff vaccinated by the December deadline.
According to reports, the government is also drawing up rules for businesses with 100 or more employees to require vaccines or test unvaccinated staff at least once a week. Guidelines from the government are expected in the upcoming days.
94% of Adobe employees are vaccinated
Adobe, the company which is known for Photoshop and Illustrator, said that 94% of its U.S. workforce is “or will soon be fully vaccinated.” Adobe, the company headquartered at the San Jose, California-based company has assured about its consideration to accommodate requests for employees who aren’t vaccinated for religious or medical reasons.
IBM has also issued a similar warning to staff earlier this month. Just like IBM, Adobe has contracts with various government agencies for software packages. And hence these companies are pushing for a vaccination with urgency.
So, as they say, freedom does not come in absolute but in bits and pieces. Employees of Adobe are experiencing the same nowadays.
