Pixel 6 Series Won’t Come To India, Pixel 5a India Launch In Cards?
Google unveiled Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro flagships officially at the Pixel event on Tuesday, but sadly the new Google phones won’t come to India. A spokesperson from the company told Gadgets360 that Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are not coming to India because of multiple factors. As stated by the publication in an email from the Google spokesperson “Due to a variety of factors including global demand-supply issues, we are not able to make our products available in all markets”.
The spokesperson further added that Google will remain committed to the current Pixel phones and look forward to bringing future Pixel devices to more countries in the future.
Pixel 6 phones are the first Google phones to come with an in-house Tensor chipset, a 50MP primary camera, Android 12 OS and up to 120Hz refresh rate. Pixel 6 series don a brand new design with a horizontal camera bar at the back, punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.
This was no surprise. Google also didn’t launch the recent flagships in the country, including the Pixel 4 series, Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G.
Google released the Pixel 4a 4G version in India, and that opens up the window for Pixel 5a India release. The device was earlier expected to release in early October, but it’s yet to be confirmed.
Google unveiled the Pixel 5a with 5G support a while back, and the company is yet to confirm Pixel 5a India release date. Though it’s pretty sure Pixel 5a will launch in India, and the Diwali-period seems the probable time for the release of Pixel 5a 5G in the country.
The successor to the very popular Google mid-ranger from last year, Pixel 5a 5G packs in a decent set of specifications at an attractive price point.
Google Pixel 5a comes with an OLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset, 12MP primary camera, 16MP wide angle rear camera and a 4,680mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. Google Pixel 4a launched last year at Rs 31,999 during the Flipkart Big Billion Day 2020, and Pixel 5a India launch may happen during this year’s Diwali, expected in November now.
