Maruti Suzuki To Launch New 7-Seater In Indian Automobile Market
The maruti Suzuki XL7 is an MPV that is already available for sale in Indonesia. The XL7 is a premium avatar of the Ertiga. The major difference between the two models is the seating layout. XL7 will be a seven seater and will also come with a bench seat in its second row.
Whereas, the Indonesia specific car sports features like roof, black pillars, doors visors, unique 16-inch alloy wheels, and a rear upper spoiler.
Recently, we reported that Maruti Suzuki’s Swift has been awarded a big fat zero by the Latin New Car Assessment Programme or Latin NCAP. The car was crash-tested by the automobile safety assessment programme.
Maruti Suzuki XL7: Specifications, Features, and Prices
The car will come with a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated K15B petrol engine that produces 103 bhp and 138 Nm of torque. The engine will also have options of a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic transmission. It will reportedly be built on the Heartect platform which currently is found on the Ertiga.
The measurements of the car are expected to be somewhere around 4,445mm in length, 1,775mm wide, and 1,700mm in height. It will come with 2740 mm wheelbase, and a boot space of 803 litres, with rear seats folded.
Coming to the features of the car, full LED headlamps with DRLs, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, cruise control, automatic AC, multi-function steering wheel, keyless entry are some of the features that are expected. The Indonesia-specific XL7 gets a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and bigger 16-inch alloy wheels.
It will also come with bench format seating in the second row.
The car is expected to be launched at a slightly higher price over the Ertiga. Therefore, we can estimate Maruti XL7 to be Rs 50,000 to Rs 80,000 more expensive than the Ertiga.
