50 Lakh Govt Employees Will Now Get Rs 4500 Extra Salary/Month: Find Out Why & How
Another piece of good news for lakhs of Central government employees after the recent hike in dearness allowance (DA).
Children Education Allowance
According to the reports, the Central government employees who failed to claim Children Education Allowance (CEA) due to COVID-19 pandemic can now claim this money and they will not require any official document for the same.
Basically, the central government employees also get an allowance for the education of their children.
So far, it is Rs 2,250 per month as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission.
As we know, schools have been closed since last year due to a coronavirus outbreak.
That is why the Central government employees failed to claim CEA.
In the same regards, an Office of Memorandum (OM) was issued last month, by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
The memorandum said that Central government employees have faced difficulties in claiming Children Education Allowance due to COVID-19 pandemic.
They mention the cause saying though the parents submitted the fees online the schools did not send results of the students through SMS or email.
How To Claim For Children Education Allowance?
Coming to CEA claims, the DoPT said that CEA claims can also be made through self declaration or print out of SMS/e-mail of result/report card/fee payment.
It is noteworthy here that this facility will be available only for the academic year ending in March 2020 and March 2021.
Presently, Central government employees get Children Education Allowance for the education of two children.
Further, this allowance is Rs 2250 per child per month.
So in case if employees have not claimed CEA from March 2020 and March 2021 academic calendar then they can claim this amount.
They will receive these claims as their salary component.
