Google I/O 2021 annual event will be hosted today at 10.30 pm IST, will take place till May 20. Cancelled last year, the flagship Google event will be hosted online this year on Google’s I/O website which will include the much-awaited Android 12 with new “developer-focused features” and forthcoming UI changes. Not only Android 12, we will get updates on the upcoming Google products as well. The internet giant may unveil the Pixel Watch at the event alongside Pixel Buds A series as well.
Starting with the Pixel Buds A series, the Pixel Buds details were shared on Google’s official Android account on Twitter accidentally.
Pixel Buds design is same as the promotional email leak, and will come in an all-white case apart from a dark ‘forest green’ design.
Now coming to the Pixel Watch, the first-ever smartwatch from the brand has been tipped on a number of occasions. Recently the images were shared by popular tipster Jon Prosser. The upcoming Pixel Watch will have a circular dial with a physical crown to match traditional watches with interchangeable straps and a heart rate tracker.
Android 12 will steal a lot of limelight form the event. The latest version is going to have a new interface with bigger buttons and sliders. The latest UI additions under Android 12 will include a key update for tablets. With Android 12, the tablets will now have a native dual-panel home screen. Users can use it to multitask and make use of the most of the screen space.
The Quick Settings drawer from the notifications panel will see some change as well. It will have a similar design language with the three settings icons per row and not five or six icons per row.
Android 12 will get a splash screen. It’s a loading screen with the app logo whenever you open an app. There will be new scrolling effects as well when you over-scroll, a sticky scroll effect The latest Android version will rename the ‘reduce brightness’ to ‘extra dim’, and there could be more dimness this time for less eye strain at night. We might see some details popping up as well about the new Pixel phones including Pixel 6 series: Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, and the mid-budget Pixel 5a 5G.
Popular tipster Jon Prosser recently leaked the Pixel 6 series first look on YouTube revealing the complete design of the upcoming Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro / Pixel 6 XL. Google Pixel 6 release date is not out yet, but the internet giant may share some hints at the event. The company is expected to follow the same launch period for Pixel 6 series. The upcoming Google Pixel 6 launch will happen in October 2021.
Pixel 6 price will be in line with the predecessor, expected to start at $699 (around Rs 51,500). Pixel 6 will run on Google’s Whitechapel custom chipset, an XDA report reaffirms. Pixel 6 has already been leaked a few times to come with an in-house Google chip. The upcoming Google flagship will be running on the in-house Google-made chipset codenamed, Whitechapel. At the same time, we will get some details about the Pixel 5a launch as well. The device is expected by June, and it will feature Snapdragon 765G.
