Hyundai’s New Micro-SUV Will Cost Rs 4 Lakh; This Is How It Looks (Maruti S-Presso Rival?)
The micro SUV segment, which is currently occupied by the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Mahindra KUV100, Ignis and the upcoming Tata Hornbill, is what Hyundai has decide to explore.
Hyundai AX1
Hyundai is currently planning to introduce its vehicle codenamed AX1 concept. On several occasions, the prototype of the model has been spied in in the home country of the car manufacturer.
The micro-SUV will be based on the smaller K1 platform. This underpins the Santro in the company’s lineup.
The overall dimension of the prototype poses an upright SUV-ish type stance, tall-boy design with bumper-mounted headlamps and big mesh-type centre grille as seen on the Venue.
There is a straight roofline with C-pillar mounted door handles on the side and also six-spoke alloy wheels. Due to a large sheet covering on the rear side, not much is seen as far as design details are concerned. But a bumper-mounted number plate slot with square-shaped rear defoggers can be seen. When it comes to interior, however, no details available with respect to it.
Can be Priced Rs 4 to 7 lakh
When it comes to India, it shall be placed below the B-segment compact SUV, the Venue and will be the smallest SUV in the South Korean car-maker’s India portfolio.
We can expect the car to be powered by small displacement engines with manual and automatic transmission, but no details as such are available with respect to the expected powertrain options on the car.
As far as price is concerned, it can be priced between the Rs 4 to 7 lakh price bracket and details of the same are expected to be revealed by Hyundai at the next Auto Expo.
