Mi 11 Ultra To Come With Special Battery, In House Chip On March 29
Mi 11 Ultra will come with a silicon-oxygen anode battery with an in-house new chip. The battery will support super fast-charging with Si-O2 technology. It will make the phones thinner and will be able to charge faster. It’s said to have nano-scaled silicon material that can offer 10 times greater capacity than graphite. Coming to the new chip by Xiaomi, it will probably be a successor to Surge S1 SoC which was introduced back in 2017. It could be a new Surge S2 with a dedicated ISP for the liquid lens.
Xiaomi confirmed a “Mega Launch” event on March 29. The event will be live-streamed on all its social media platforms, to start at 11:30 GMT (4:30AM IST).
The company has confirmed two phones to be unveiled at the event Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra. Mi 11 Lite is expected to be launched at the same event, the first phone to run on Snapdragon 775G. The device will pack in a 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide and 5MP macro sensors.
Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra both are said to house the large Samsung ISOCELL Bright GN2 50MP sensor.
Mi 11 Ultra will be available officially outside of China, unlike the Mi 10 Ultra. The company already unveiled Mi 11 globally in Europe, and Xiaomi is expected to bring in a few more Mi 11 models in the future. The model number ending in “G” stands for “global” in case of Xiaomi devices. The previously leaked hands-on video from February of Mi 11 Ultra with model number M2102K1G.
The leaked details included a 6.81-inch WQuad HD+ 120 Hz AMOLED screen, IP68 water and dust resistance, stereo speakers, Snapdragon 888, 5,000 mAh battery with 67W wired and 67W wireless charging, as well as 10W reverse wireless charging.
Apart from Mi 11, the series is said to include Mi 11 Lite, Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra. The other two have quite been in the news, and the Ultra model is now breaking the internet. Leaked by a Filipino YouTuber called Tech Buff PH, the device seemed like a real Mi 11 Ultra.
Whether the leak’s authentic or not, it’s still doubtful, but the model number shown on the back, M2102K1G matches a Xiaomi device recently got certified by India’s BIS and the EU’s EEC Cryptographic Device Database.
Tipster kacskrz also confirmed the development of Xiaomi flagship code-named “star” will have a model name ending in “K1”. So, “K1G” could be the global variant of “star.”
The leaked Mi 11 Ultra models included black and white variants. They came with massive camera bumps housing a triple camera array, said to be a 50MP main sensor, a 48MP wide-angle and a 48MP periscopic telephoto zoom lens. It has “120X Ultra Pixel AI Camera” written on the back model which reads 120X, 12-120mm, 1:1.95-4.1, so the periscopic zoom lens may see an upgrade to 10X optical zoom.
Apart from cameras, Mi 11 Ultra will have a tiny secondary display at the back. You will probably be able to use it for running any app on your phone. It could be for taking selfies with rear-facing cameras and checking notifications.
Mi 11 Pro is said to have the exact same screen as Mi 11. A 6.81 inch display wiyh curved sides offering 1,440 x 3,200 resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 480 Hz touch sampling rate and 1,500-nit peak brightness. Under the hood, Mi 11 Pro will run on the same Snapdragon 888.
Lastly, the other leaked Mi 11 Ultra specs include a 6.8-inch quad-curved OLED display at WQHD+ resolution offering 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a 20MP selfie inside a hole-punch cutout, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for protection, an IP68 dust and water resistance, a 5,000mAh battery, speakers tuned by Harman/Kardon, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset and charging options including 67W fast wired, 67W fast wireless and 10W reverse wireless.
