8 New Trains Launched With Vistadome Coaches: Unique Features You Should Know
Being the world’s highest statue, the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel situated in Gujarat has become one of the major new tourist spots in India. To promote its tourism, even more, the government has improved the transportation services by introducing a luxurious train that directly connects Ahmedabad and Kevadiya.
Inauguration
The inauguration of this special train along with 6 other trains was scheduled on 17th January 2020. The train named Ahmedabad-Kevadiya Jan Shatabdi Special Express is a perfect blend of luxury, comfort and amazing viewing experience.
Sharing some of its glimpses, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had tweeted one day before the inauguration.
Features
The major feature that grabbed eyeballs is the Vistadome coach. The 44 recliner seats which rotate at 180 degrees ensure the comfort of the traveller. The observation lounge, 10 large windows, glass roofing and automatic sliding doors enable the traveller to experience the scenic beauty of the journey to the fullest.
The train also provides digital display and sound entertainment system, GPS based public-address-cum passenger information system, WI-fi facility and LED destination board. It also has a mini pantry containing a coffee maker water cooler hot oven and refrigerator along with foldable snack tables.
This luxurious train is also equipped with CCTV camera, fire alarm system for security of passengers.
Timings and Halts
With a travel time of around 3 hours, there are two Shatabdi expresses travelling from Ahmedabad-Kevadiya at two different timings. The early Shatabdi express numbered 09247 is scheduled to start from 7:55 am and reach the destination by 10:40 hours. Besides, the other Shatabdi express with train number 09249 is lined up to leave Ahmedabad at 3:20 pm and reach the tourist spot at 6:20 pm.
Similarly, there are also two return trains that will bring the tourist back to Ahmedabad after visiting the gigantic statue. Train no 09248 is programmed to leave Kevadiya at 11:15 am and touch the destination station at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Whereas the second return train numbered 09250 has a running time from 8:20 pm to 11:05 pm.
These trains are scheduled to serve the travellers from 18 January on a daily basis. In both to and fro journeys the train is expected to make a stop at the Vadodara junction.
For the day of the inauguration, train no 09249 was scheduled to travel from Ahmedabad to Kevadiya from 11:12 am to 2:42 pm. While the return train with train no. 09250 was scheduled to leave Kevadiya at 8:20 pm and reach Ahmedabad at 11:45 pm. In the inaugural run, the train stopped at 5 stations – Nadiad, Anand, Vadodara junction, Dabhoi and Chandon.
