The Indian crime drama web television series, Delhi Crime, has won the Best Drama Series award at the 48th annual International Emmy Awards!
This is truly a proud moment for us!
In fact, this makes Delhi Crime the first Indian series to ever win an Emmy. The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the award on its official website.
Delhi Crime Web Series Wins Emmy’s Best Drama Series
Delhi Crime is a series that is based on the aftermath of the unfortunate 2012 Delhi gang rape case. It showcases the journey of deputy commissioner Vartika Chaturvedi (portrayed by Shefali Shah) and the team of Delhi Police who are in charge of finding the criminals.
The first two episodes of the series were premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival in the Indie Episodic category as well.

How To Watch Delhi Crime?
Delhi Crime is streaming on Netflix. Infact, Netflix sweeped the awards at Emmy’s this year, thanks for their original shows like Delhi Crime.
Delhi Crime stars some familiar faces, like Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain, and Rajesh Tailang. The first season of the series is of about 7 episodes that are written and directed by Richie Mehta.
Richie Mehta has dedicated the award to all the women who are victims of such violence inflicted on them and are also expected to deal with the same.
He said, “I dedicate this award to all the women who not just endure the violence that so many men inflict on them, but are then tasked to solve the problem. Finally, to the tireless mother, and her daughter. Not a day goes by when I don’t think about you both and what the world subjected you two to. And I hope none of us ever forget that.”
The series was released on Netflix on 22 March 2019. As per reports, there is also is a second season that will feature the same main cast. The series has an approval rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and an IMDb rate of 8.5 out of 10.
