Canada Will Accept 12 Lakh Skilled Immigrants In 3 Years: 400,000 Permanent Residents Every Year!

Canada has decided to throw open their borders, and accept more than 12 lakh immigrants into their country, in the next 3 years.

From 300,000 permanent residents, Canada will now increase the yearly quote to more than 400,000 per year, for the next three years.

This is a jump of 30% in accepting immigrants and granting them permanent residentship.

Canada: We Will Accept 1.2 Million Immigrants In Three Years

Marco E. L. Mendicino, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship in Canada has confirmed that the yearly quota of allocating permanent residentship to immigrants has been increased to 400,000.

This plan of in-taking 400,000 immigrants every year is valid till 2023.

In 2021, 401,000 immigrants will be given permanent residentship in Canada, which will be increased to 411,000 in 2022, and then 421,000 in 2023.

As of now, 300,000 is the yearly quota for granting permanent residentship in Canada.

What Is Reason For Canada Accepting More Immigrants?

The primary reason is to trigger a new wave of economic development  and growth in Canada, and allowing immigrants to work and reside is the best way forward.

The Minister said, “Immigration is essential to getting us through the pandemic, but also to our short-term economic recovery and our long-term economic growth…. As we look to recovery, newcomers create jobs not just by giving our businesses the skills they need to thrive, but also by starting businesses themselves.”

Canada runs three critical jobs and entrepreneurship programs called: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class, besides a host of Start-up Visa and Self-Employed Persons program.

The new immigrants who will be accepted in Canada will be primarily from these three schemes.

Interestingly, we just reported that 25% of all new permanent residentships given in Canada belonged to Indians.

Hence, by increasing the yearly quota of immigrants, Indians will be most beneficial.
