Airtel has finally rolled out their much awaited Rs 129 and Rs 199 plans, pan-India.
Initially, they are launched only for few selected telecom cirlces in India, but now every user from anywhere in India can avail them.
When launched in May this year, users from Haryana, Kerala, Rajasthan, UP East, UP West, Uttarakhand and West Bengal were only able to access these plans.
Are these plans right now cheapest for getting 1GB/day?

Airtel Rolls Out Rs 129, Rs 199 Plans For Pan-India
Airtel’s new Rs 129 plan offers:
- 1 GB data/day
- Validity of 24 days
- 300 SMS for 24 days
- Unlimited calling
- Access to Hello Tunes with unlimited changes
- Access to Wynk Music and Airtel Xstream
Airtel’s new Rs 199 plan offers:
- 1GB data/day
- Validity of 24 days
- 100 SMS per day for 24 days
- Unlimited calling
- Access to Hello Tunes with unlimited changes
- Access to Wynk Music and Airtel Xstream
Hence, SMS is the main differentiator between Rs 129 and Rs 199 plan from Airtel, rest all the features are same, and data is 1GB per day.
Cheapest 1GB/Day Plans?
Cheapest 1GB/day plan from Airtel is right now Rs 99, which has a validity of just 18 days, with total of 100 SMSes for the entire duration, and access to unlimited calling and Zee5, Wynk Music and Airtel XStream.
But if we need longer validity, then Reliance Jio offers 1GB/day for Rs 149, whose validity is 24 days. Although unlimited Jio to Jio calling is allowed, calls to non-Jio numbers are capped at 300 minutes a month.
At the same time, Vodafone-Idea’s Rs 129 plan offers a validity of 24 days and just 2GB of data for the entire duration with 300 SMSes and unlimited calling.
For 1GB/day, Vodafone-Idea users need to shell out Rs 199 per month, with a validity of 24 days.
Hence, Airtel’s Rs 129 plan is the cheapest 1GB/day plan as of now, for 24 days validity.
