The India Head of Cognizant, Ramkumar Ramamoorthy, has quit the company after a remarkably long stint of 23 years. His last day would be on July 17, 2020.
There has been a long line of high level executives that have quit the company recently. The company hasnt seen a lot of good days in a while, what with the Maze ransomware attack and the lockdown forcing them to remove many of the employees.

Cognizant Chairman and Managing Director Ramkumar Ramamoorthy Latest To Leave Company
The Chairman and the Managing Director Ramkumar Ramamoorthy will be stepping down from his position at Cognizant. Ramkumar, who will no longer be associated with Cognizant, was promoted to Chairman last year.
In an email to the employees, Brian Humphries, CEO, Cognizant said, “After 23 years with our company, Ramkumar Ramamoorthy, Chairman and Managing Director, India, has decided to retire from Cognizant, effective July 17, 2020.”
He also thanked Ramkumar for his successful tenure at Cognizant and said that he was grateful for the leadership of Ramkumar during the pandemic. As per the mail, Ramkumar made sure that health and safety of associates and also took care of transitioning the work from home move for the employees effectively.
Humphries’ mail also appreciated that Ramkumar being a brand ambassador of Cognizant with their multiple external stakeholders.
Multiple High Level Executives Have Quit Cognizant Since 2019
The long line of high level executives that have quit the company includes COO Srinivasan Veeraraghavachary. The company also fired about 7,000 middle and senior level executives from the company as well.
The current global delivery head Pradeep Shilige has quit after a long tenure of 24 years. He was replaced by Andy Stafford who is an Accenture veteran.
Then there was the Former CEO Francisco D’Souza, who stepped down from the board in February.
Ever since Humphries has taken over as CEO in 2019, hundreds of senior executives have reportedly quit the company.
In May, the company announced that 400 employees would be fired from their posts in a staggered manner.
