The latest Snapdragon 720G may power the Redmi Note 9 Pro, the next mid-range flagship from Redmi lineup.
The octa-core Snapdragon 720G will focus on gaming with 10-bit HDR support.
SD 720G will pack in a Qualcomm Hexagon 692 DSP for on-device AI operations. It will support 4K video recording and high-speed AMOLED displays. The chipset dons X15 LTE modem, ensuring download speeds upto as high as 800Mbps.
Redmi Note 9 Pro Specs, Features: What’s Getting Better?
Redmi Note 9 Pro will pack in glass design as the predecessors with some new colour combinations. Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 8 Pro came with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protections with a gradient back design.
The leaks suggest Note 9 Pro in a gradient design as the Redmi K20 series.
Coming to display, Note 9 Pro will again come with a similar IPS LCD panel as other Redmi Note series phones.
Redmi Note 9 Pro will run on a new Snapdragon 700 series processor, expected to be the just launched Snapdragon 720G. The company will also put special focus on gaming performance as Redmi Note 8 Pro, hence chances are Redmi Note 9 Pro may come with Snapdragon 720G.
Xiaomi India has officially confirmed the next Redmi smartphone will be supporting ISRO’s NavIC satellite navigation system.
As per ISRO, the accuracy of the NavIC system is more than that of GPS, as the former works on dual frequency bands (S and L), whereas, GPS works only on the L band.
Redmi Note 9 Pro will also be setting some new standards with the camera, and hence Sony IMX686 64MP is expected as the main camera. Redmi Note 8 Pro already comes with Samsung 64MP sensor, so Note 9 Pro may also have the largest 108MP sensor.
It’s going to be a four-camera setup with wide-angle lens, a depth sensor and a macro camera.
Lastly, the same 4,500 mAh battery is expected on Redmi Note 9 Pro with battery capacity optimisation. The company already offers 18W fast charging, and either the same or a higher speed fast charging maybe the existing 27W fast charging or the new 30W fast charging charger.
Redmi Note 9 Pro India Launch: Coronavirus Outbreak To Delay Launch?
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro India launch will happen after the inaugural China launch. The Redmi Note 9 Pro launch in China was earlier being expected in March 2020, but the recent Coronavirus outbreak will probably delay Note 9 series launch.
Recently the company was even forced to increase the Redmi Note 8 price in India after the outbreak affected the production back in China.
Redmi Note 9 Pro launch should launch in the first half of 2020, and it will then come to India.
So it’s safe to assume a June to September launch timeline for Redmi Note 9 series in India, but it may even come earlier as well.
Redmi Note 9 India price will start at the same Rs 14,999 for the base variant. The company has been following a six-month-refresh-strategy for its Redmi Note series phones, in both India and China. Redmi Note 9 India launch will happen at the same event as Note 9 Pro.
