As 2019 comes to a close, the ride sharing app Uber has found itself all up our news with its recent activities. A couple of days back, we informed you of Uber stepping into applying its gig economy model to all kinds of work.
Uber has finally announced putting its program ‘Uber Works’ into action in Miami soon, according to which Uber connects workers with businesses offering short-term jobs in hospitality, events, light industrial and other sectors.
Speaking of which, Uber has recently released its annual analysis of ‘How India Moved in 2019: A Year in Review by Uber’. This analysis report released by Uber is backed by data and trends and illustrates interesting insights, depicting the riders in India.
A Glimpse of Uber in India, 2019
Uber recently released a report which very minutely illustrates Uber’s involvement in the Indian society. Titled “How India Moved in 2019: A Year in Review”, Uber gives a coherent glimpse of how, when and where Indians ‘Ubered’ the most in 2019.
This index reveals the cities with the highest number of trips and pool rides; the most popular cities in India where international travelers like to use Uber, popular cities abroad where Indian travelers availed Uber rides, along with the most endeared holidays and dates which have marked the highest Uber rides in India.
Backed strongly by rider insights and captivating data, the index shows that the cities with the highest number of Uber trips are Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. These were also the cities which hosted the highest number of Uber riders visiting India.
Bengaluru reported highest number of pool rides, followed closely by Delhi and Kolkata. Also London, San Francisco and Doha were the top 3 international cities where international travelers in India rode Uber most.
