Star, Zee, TV18, Sony Slash Their Tariffs By 58%

Does your high television bills aggravate you? We finally have good news – a few popular channels will be available at Rs. 7 lesser than their original cost. 

Many of the popular channels will have their prices slashed, and this comes after almost 2 crore Indians decided to quit DTH and cable services for getting huge bills. People have started opting for Hotstar, Netflix, Amazon Prime and other such OTT channels. 

Dish TV recently announced attractive offers to retain their customers by offering more than 250 channels for a monthly rental of Rs. 219 only.

And now, some big channels will be available to you for much lesser prices, including Star, Zee, TV18, Sony and more. Find out which channels will be reducing their prices right here!

Viacom18 

As its festive season offer, Viacom18 has reduced the prices of its channels, Colors Kannada and the GEC Hindi channel, Colors by Rs. 12, which were previously priced at Rs. 19. 

ZEEL 

Zee has reduced the rates of some of its popular channels, such as Zee TV, Zee Marathi, Zee Bangla, Zee Telugu, Zee Kannada and Zee Sarthak.

Similar to Viacom18’s channels, these channels were previously priced at Rs. 19, and are now available at Rs. 12 per month. 

Star India 

Following the footsteps of Viacom18 and ZEE is Star India, who has reduced the prices of some of its popular channels to Rs. 12 per month, which was Rs. 19 previously. We know that Star Plus’ SD channel is definitely one of them. 

Sony Pictures Network India

Sony will be offering SET, Sony SAB and Sony MAX will be available at the price of Rs. 12 per month. These channels were available previously at Rs. 19. 

TRAI To Implement Discount Caps On Channel Pricing

There is news that TRAI is looking to put a cap on channel pricing, which will not allow the broadcasters to price the a-la-carte channels at more than 15% of the price in the bouquet. In simple terms, this means that if a channel is priced at Rs. 6 in the bouquet, then the a-la-carte price will not exceed Rs. 6.90.
