Train Delayed? Indian Railways Will Pay You Upto Rs 250! (How To Avail, Which Trains?)

For the first time ever, Indian Railways will pay you for train getting delayed. This is a big decision by Indian Railways, since 30% of all trains were delayed last year.

Tejas Express Passengers Will Get Paid If Train Is Delayed

Tejas Express running between Lucknow and New Delhi, which is India’s 1st private train, will be empowered with a unique compensation model, if it gets delayed.

As per the details available, passengers will be eligible to get Rs 100 if the train is delayed by one hour, and Rs 250 if the train is delayed by 2 hours.

IRCTC will run Tejas Express, instead of Indian Railways, and the first run will be flagged off on October 4th.

How To Avail Delay Compensation?

If the train is delayed, then the passengers will need to fill an online form provided by the insurance company, and this would be available on their website.

Or else, the passenger can also call a toll-free number to claim compensation for train getting delayed.

Tejas Express: Bundle Of Innovation

Tejas Express, India’s 1st private train will be equipped with a slew of innovations and unique features, which will be a first of Indians.

Passengers can avail door-step pick up of baggage, get on-demand entertainment in the trains, Rs 25 lakh of insurance and more.

Notably, there will be no Tatkal quota for Tejas Express.

Starting from October 4th, Tejas Express has already received 2000+ bookings.

The fare details are:

Lucknow to New Delhi in AC Chair Car: Rs 1125

Lucknow to New Delhi in Executive Chair Car: Rs 2310

New Delhi To Lucknow in AC Chair Car: Rs 1280

New Delhi To Lucknow in Executive Chair Car: Rs 2450

More private firms are being invited for running private trains, which will be expanded to 50 routes, pan-India. 24 routes have already been earmarked for running private trains.
