The craze for 48MP camera smartphones continue to grow in the country. Currently, the 48MP sensor remains the most sought after camera lens in country and probably worldwide. From top devices to mid-end flagships, all are after the 48MP sensor.

The Sony IMX 586 48MP lens is the original imaging sensor which contributed majorly to the hype.

Samsung launched its own budget 48MP sensor to stitch up images and offer HQ pictures as original 48MP sensor. Even later Sony launched another budget version of the original 48MP lens, the Sony IMX 582 sensor, recently used in Redmi K20.

The 48MP lens does help to capture a lot of detail, while the rest depends on post image processing.

The newly launched Redmi Note 7S takes the next spot replacing the standard Redmi Note 7. The new Note 7S from Xiaomi is currently the cheapest 48MP camera smartphone in India. It packs in the same 6.3-inch Full HD+ notched display in an 19.5:9 aspect ratio with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Redmi Note 7S is powered by Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM.

At the back, Redmi Note 7S comes with a dual camera setup featuring a 48MP main sensor coupled with a 5MP secondary depth sensor. Do note, it’s the Samsung ISOCELL GM1 48MP sensor, and not the Sony IMX 586 one.

Up front, Note 7S sports a 13MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture supporting AI Beautification, HDR and more. The whole package is backed by a 4,000mAh battery supporting 18W fast charging (without the brick inside the box) running on the latest Android 9.0 Pie based MIUI 10.

The just launched Motorola One Vision is the latest to join the 48MP smartphone list in the country. Starting at Rs 19,999, the new Moto device runs on Google’s Android One program offering Pixel-like seamless user interface. The device comes with a 48-megapixel primary camera along with a 5-megapixel secondary sensor on the back.

Moto One Vision flaunts a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with 21:9 aspect taller display ratio and 3D Corning Gorilla Glass on the back. Up front, Motorola One Vision has a 25-megapixel selfie camera.

Motorola One Vision is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 9609 processor with 4GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage. The storage can be further expanded with an external microSD card. The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie with guaranteed upgrade till the next two versions, Android Q and Android R. It houses a 3,500mAh battery supporting 15W fast charging technology.

Vivo V15 Pro [Under Rs 30,000]

The official Vivo smartphone from the recent edition of IPL comes with a rear three camera system including a 48MP primary lens. The Vivo V15 Pro uses a Samsung ISOCELL GM1 48MP sensor and not the Sony IMX 586 sensor. The smartphone uses pixel binning technology to transform the standard 12-megapixel resolution photos to 48MP pictures. It’s the same technology uses by Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S.

Asus recently unveiled its much-awaited flagship in the country, the Zenfone 6 as Asus 6Z with the unique flipping camera. The unique technology has been used to offer a full-screen display.

Honor View20 [Under Rs 34,000]

Honor View20 is currently available starting at Rs 34,999, making the Honor device a good option to buy at under Rs 35,000 rupees. The smartphone comes with a dual-camera setup at the back including the popular 48-megapixel primary Sony IMX 586 sensor and a secondary ToF depth sensor. It was the first phone in India to come with an in-display selfie shooter in a punch-hole styled display.

Honor View20 runs on an octa-core Kirin 980 chipset, based on a 7nm process with Dual NPU and GPU Turbo 2.0 technology, coupled with 6GB and 8GB of RAM.

The new OnePlus 7 is currently one of the best smartphones you can buy at under 40,000 rupees in India. The OnePlus 7 starts at Rs 32,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model, making it a solid option at under Rs 40,000 with the best of specs and features.

OnePlus 7 runs on OxygenOS based on Android 9.0 Pie, sporting a 6.41-inch full HD+ Optic AMOLED display in an 19.5:9 aspect ratio, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

OnePlus 7 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with the Adreno 640 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM.
