Redmi Can Launch A Mysterious 64-Mega Pixel Smartphone; Can Samsung Beat Redmi In This Race?
This is some big news coming in from the Redmi camp: A mysterious 64-megapixel camera smartphone can be launched very soon.
Before we share the details, there is another question: Can Redmi beat Samsung in this race?
Redmi’s 64 Mega Pixel Smartphone Coming Soon
Hints have emerged on Chinese social networking site Weibo, that Redmi will soon launch a 64-Mega Pixel camera smartphone, which will be based on ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor.
This particular sensor was launched by Samsung in the month of May, and some analysts have described it as one of the finest camera sensors available today.
The specialty of ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor is that, it can capture both 1080p slow-motion videos as well as Super PD PDAF technology, and the results are breath-taking.
Mass production of the ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor is expected to start in the second half of 2019, and this means, that in case Redmi launches a camera smartphone with 64 Mega Pixel, featuring ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor, then it will only be in the later half of 2019.
Now, Xiaomi and Redmi, both have launched some of the biggest blockbusters in the first half of 2019 (Redmi K20, Mi 9T, Note 7 Pro etc), and this is not clear if the new smartphone will feature this phenomenal 64-Mega Pixel smartphone.
Will Redmi Beat Samsung In This Race?
This whole concept of 64-megapixel smartphone is based on Samsung’s SOCELL Bright GW1 sensor, which is actually an extension of their 0.8?m image sensor lineup.
When they had launched this in the month of May, Samsung had already announced that this new sensor with 64 megapixel camera will be part of the new Galaxy A70s smartphone.
The launch date is expected later this year, and most probably, it will be around Christmas peak season, when buyers are looking for newer models.
Galaxy A70 has already been launched, and Galaxy A70s will be an enhanced version of the same.
It has thus become very interesting race to launch the world’s first 64 mega pixel smartphone: As both Redmi and Samsung are aiming to beat one another.
