HMD Global has started to tease Nokia 9 PureView launch in the country, suggesting at an arrival very soon. The company recently posted a Nokia 9 PureView teaser on it’s official Nokia India Facebook page.
Nokia 9 was unveiled at the MWC 2019 event in Barcelona last month.
The smartphone has been in the news since last year. Manufactured in association with camera company Light, Nokia 9 PureView will come with five cameras at the back.
The India launch teaser has pictures captured by the penta camera asking fans to “stay tuned”.
Nokia 9 PureView: Specs, Camera & Features
Nokia 9 has a glass sandwich body with metal curved into a 3D body. The smartphone feels very premium on the out. On top, the Nokia flagship features a 5.99 Quad HD+ pOLED PureDisplay in an 18.5:9 screen aspect ratio without any notch and extended bezels.
It has a screen resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels with HDR10 support. and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It also has an in-display optical fingerprint sensor embedded inside.
Nokia 9 PureView is powered by the flagship SoC from last year, Snapdragon 845 chipset with 6GB of RAM.
The most interesting feature on Nokia 9 PureView it’s its rear penta camera system. The smartphone sports five rear cameras by Zeiss. The camera system includes three 12MP f/1.8 monochrome sensors and two 12MP f/1.8 RGB sensors.
The Nokia 9 camera has been appreciated by some big tech houses for its stellar performance under low lighting conditions. The cameras can capture simultaneous shots at various exposures of the same scene.
All the lenses are put to use to capture shots under different exposures.
All the images are then stitched together to offer one high-resolution well-detailed shot. Nokia 9 can even shoot raw images to be later edited on a preloaded Adobe Lightroom app on the smartphone.
Coming to connectivity, Nokia 9 PureView supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C and most importantly, there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack.
The smartphone packs in 128GB of internal storage in a single storage option. It’s an Android One flagship running on the latest Android Pie. Nokia 9 is backed by a 3,320mAh battery unit with support for wireless charging.
Nokia 9 India Launch & Pricing
Nokia 9 PureView has been launched globally at $699, which translates to around INR 48,500. The smartphone is available in certain global markets including Europe. HMD is known to price its flagships in the upper price bracket in the country.
Nokia 8 Sirocco was priced at Rs 50,000 in India, so Nokia 9 PureView is expected to be priced around it.
Nokia 9 PureView will be launch in a single Midnight Blue color in the country. Coming to the Nokia 9 India launch, the smartphone is expected in April.
The official India price and availability are yet to be revealed. Given the global pricing, Nokia 9 will be priced in line with it’s global variant in between Rs 45,000 to Rs 50,000.
