Jio Republic Day 2018 Plans; Disrupting The Market Again!

Jio has done it again! Nobody can disrupt the market like Jio. After Airtel announced their revised 149 plan yesterday, Jio has turned the game completely on its head. Jio has just announced their ‘Jio Republic day 2018’ plans. The cheapest plan in there costs Rs. 98/-, which offers 3GB data for 28 days. Airtel’s latest 149 plan offers 1GB data for 28 days.

Just as it seems that the other telecoms have caught up to Jio, it always finds ways to disrupt the market again. This has been Jio’s strategy since the beginning. Despite all these low-cost plans, Jio has managed to earn the maximum profits in the last quarter. All within 15 months.

Let us take a look at the new plans from Jio.

Jio Republic Day 2018: The Plans

It looks like Jio has completely revamped all their plans. Jio has done 2 things here;

1. They have redued the prices of all plans by Rs. 50/-
2. They have added 50% more benefit to all the plans

So, what this effectively means is that all plans now offer 50% more data and cost Rs. 50/- lesser. Where a plan previously offered 1GB data per day, it will now offer 1.5GB data per day. The 1.5GB plans will now offer 2GB data per day.

There are a total of 9 plans in the latest offer. They have been categorized into three groups as follows;

The Basic Jio Plan

This is the cheapest and the most basic plan here. Rs. 98/- gets you 2GB data for a period of 28 days. This is in addition to other benefits which include free unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day.

Jio 1.5GB Data Per Day Plans

This is where the fun starts. There are no plans in this offer which give 1GB data per day. There are four plans which offer 1.5GB data per day.

1. The Rs. 149/– plan gives 42GB data for 28 days.
2. The Rs. 349/- plan offers 105GB data for 70 days.
3. The Rs. 399/- plan offers 126GB data for 84 days.
4. The Rs. 449/- plan will give you 136GB data for 91 days.

All these plans include all the other benefits like free unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day and access to Jio’s premuim apps.

Jio 2GB Data Per Day Plans

Previously, there was only a single plan which offered 2GB of high-speed data per day. Now jio has increased the number to four! I think these will among the best-sellers as these offer unbeatable value to high-volume data consumers.

1. The Rs. 198/– plan now offers 56GB data for 28 days.
2. The Rs. 398/- plan will give you 140GB data for 70 days.
3. The Rs. 448/- plan offers 168GB data for 84 days.
4. The Rs. 498/- plan will give you 182GB data for 91 days.

As usual, these plans will include all the other benefits of free unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day and access to Jio’s premuim apps.

Now the question is what will the others do? How will they react and match up to these new plans from Jio?
