The Note 8 is coming to India, and Samsung can’t keep calm this time. The South Korean giant is all ready to bring their latest flagship Galaxy Note 8 to the country. Samsung has already started to send out media invites for the launch event on September 12 in India.

‘Do Bigger Things’, reads the invite. And Samsung is hoping to do it bigger this time around.

What makes the India launch of the Galaxy Note 8 more interesting is that it’s scheduled on the same day when Apple will unveil their tenth anniversary iPhone (iPhone 8 or iPhone X). While the latest iPhone will launch globally, the Galaxy Note 8 will launch in India.

What’s New In The Galaxy Note 8?

Samsung’s latest flagship Galaxy Note 8 hosts a number of new upgrades. Note 8 is first smartphone from Samsung to feature a dual camera set-up at the back. It features a special Portrait Mode and Dual Optical Image Stabilization (D-OIS). The display on the Galaxy Note 8 flows over the edges, and has the the slimmest of bezel on the top and bottom. Additionally, it is certified water and dust resistant. On the security front, it hosts an Iris Scanner in addition to the Fingerprint Scanner.

Display

Galaxy Note 8 will feature the Infinity Display like Samsung Galaxy S8, though it is not so pronounced as the one on the S8. The Note 8 sports a 6.3 inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display, which comes with the now Samsung’s standard 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

Hardware

The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s present flagship chipset, the  Snapdragon 835 globally. In India, the Note 8 will be powered by the 64-bit Exynos 8895 octa-core chipset paired with 6GB of RAM.

Software

The Note 8 will run on Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box with their latest Grace UX on top.

Internal Storage

Note 8 will be available in three storage variants – 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Storage can be expanded up to 256GB in all variants.

Camera

Galaxy Note 8 sports a dual camera setup on the back which uses a pair of 12 megapixel wide angle lens and 12 megapixel telephoto lens. It comes with Dual Optical Image Stabilization (D-OIS), which means both the sensors get IOS. At the front, the Note 8 sports an 8 megapixel sensor with autofocus.

Connectivity

It hosts all sensors along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, 4G (with VoLTE support) and hosts a USB Type-C port.

Battery

The Note 8 packs in a 3,300mAh non-removable battery which supports fast charging on both,wired as well as wireless chargers.

Variants

The device will be available in four colour variants – Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Deep Sea Blue and Maple Gold.

Availability

The device will be made available on both online and offline channels. There won’t be any exclusive channel partner, be it online or offline. Launch offers are expected at most retail outlets as well as online.

What’s New in S Pen?

The S Pen, this time around, is IP68 certified along with the Galaxy Note 8. It features 4096 pressure levels and enables to write memos directly on lock screen. The Translate Function action can translate any function written in an S-Note. It will definitely pack in more functionality than the previous version.
