Vodafone Launches Unlimited Data At Rs 6/Hour; Jio Will Offer 20% More Data, Here Is How You Can Avail It!
In an interesting twist of events, Jio and Vodafone, both have launched newer, innovative data-centric plans for their current and existing customers.
The manner in which these new data plans have been designed, clearly showcases that the war of data tariff is far from over in India.
And the innovation of these new plans shows us that the new strategy of telecom firms is to expand horizontally now.
Vodafone: Get Unlimited Data At Rs 6/hr
This is certainly a new form of innovation.
Vodafone has launched their Vodafone Supernight offer, under which customers can be unlimited 3G/4G data at Rs 6/hour.
Vodafone has targeted a very niche audience base for this offer: Young users, who love to party at night or binge watch TV shows on Netflix.
Supernight offer by Vodafone is only applicable between 1 AM and 6 AM and can be ‘best’ used via their own app for songs and videos: Vodafone Play.
Sandeep Kataria, Chief Commercial Officer, Vodafone India said, “Today’s youth is born into mobility and mobile phone plays a central role in their life. It is both, their command center and companion rolled into one. Data is what keeps them connected.”
Users can activate this plan by dialling *444*4# .
Jio Will Offer 20% More Data For Lyf Customers
Meanwhile, Reliance Jio has unleashed another offer, which has been specially designed to tap new customers, who are still not on their network.
Under this offer, new customers of Jio who are purchasing new selected Lyf brand handsets can get 20% more data. The 10 Lyf branded mobile phones which are covered under this scheme are Earth 1, Earth 2, Water 1, Water 7S, Water 8, Water 10, Water 11, F1, F1S and Wind 4S.
Even older Jio customers can avail this offer, but the only condition is that their Jio purchase should have been after June 9th.
This is how you can avail this 20% more offer:
- After you purchase Jio SIM, put it inside the Lyf branded handset (eligible handsets mentioned above)
- Download MyJio app on your handset
- Follow this path to recharge with either Rs. 309 or Rs. 509: My Jio App -> My Vouchers -> View Voucher -> Recharge my number -> Confirm Recharge-> Successful Recharge Notification
- Once you have recharged, the additional 20% can be viewed under ‘My Plans’ section.
Users of Rs 309 recharge can see an additional 6 GB and users of Rs 509 recharge will see an additional 12 GB of data.
This offer is valid for all new Jio connections activated between June 9th, 2017 and March 31st, 2018. And, the additional 20 GB data can only be availed 6 times (or after 6 recharges) between this same period.
