For the first time ever in the history of OnePlus smartphone launches, OnePlus 5 will be unveiled first in India, in Mumbai. The phone will be launched in other countries subsequently.
OnePlus 5 is officially confirmed to be launched at 2 PM on 22nd June 2017 in India. The launch event will be hosted by the global leadership team of OnePlus, along with the OnePlus Founder and CEO, Pete Lau, at the NSCI Dome, Mumbai.

It is very rare for a foreign company to not launch their flagship in their own country, and rather launch it in India. This shows the potential in the Indian market and the growth story in a country where smartphones are becoming the norm.
OnePlus fans can watch the launch in person too
OnePlus fans can attend the invitation-only event by purchasing tickets from https://oneplusstore.in on 12th June 2017. All fans who attend the launch event will get a gift hamper full of super add-ons and OnePlus merchandise. Select fans will also get a chance to purchase the OnePlus 5 at the event itself and own the device before anyone else in the country.
This is the second time a company has does this, and LeEco has done this in the past. Fans and community members have been given a chance to attend the smartphone launch and get goodies in return.
The smartphone is expected to also have very fewer bezels, to compete with the recent launches of Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6. It is going to be a little more expensive than OnePlus 3T but will be worth the specifications.
OnePlus has given Indians an excellent opportunity to witness a launch event, that too of a flagship product. This also means huge investment from OnePlus to cater to so many fans and set a new trend in India. Not only will companies now get interested in launching their products in one of the largest markets, but will also launch new products that haven’t been introduced to the country.
