RCom Shutting CDMA Services From Tomorrow. Here Are Your Best Alternatives.

RCom Shutting CDMA Services From Tomorrow. Here Are Your Best Alternatives.

As already announced, Reliance CDMA would shutting down its CDMA services from tomorrow, that is 31 May 2016.

I have been a fan of Reliance Communications’ CDMA services for the last 3 years. Their CDMA network was nothing but amazing and their decision to shut down the network with a notice of less than a month came as a surprise to all their users.

Now that Reliance CDMA is shutting down for good, we need to start looking for other options. Had RCom shut its CDMA services a few months back, I would have moved to TATA CDMA services. But even that is not an option now.

BSNL CDMA is still operational in many telecom circles so that is your only CDMA option now.

Try BSNL CDMA

BSNL CDMA base plan is offering 60 p/min call rate for all calls made within the home circle to BSNL connections and 90p/min for all other calls made to any number within the home circle. STD calling is fixed at Rs. 1.2/min for all calls.

Talking about the prepaid tariffs, BSNL is offering 1 GB data for Rs. 100 and also has an unlimited usage plan for Rs. 250.

Switch To RCom GSM Effortlessly

Another good option would be to go Reliance GSM network. Reliance has been working continuously on improving its GSM network so it wouldn’t hurt to try out their services. All you need to do is recharge your number with a 4G upgrade pack for your region, buy a 4G for Rs. 25, and you’re good to go.

What Should Reliance CDMA Dongle Users Do?

Reliance Communications is also offering very attractive 4G upgrade plans for its CDMA dongle users as well. You would be getting 10 GB of 4G data with a validity of 28 or 30 days depending upon your region. Go to Reliance 4G upgrade page for more details.

A good thing about upgrading to RCom 4G network is that you are not porting your number. You can try RCom 4G for a while, if you don’t like it then you can port to any other operator of your choice whenever you want.

I am personally switching to RCom 4G for now and will share my experience with you at the earliest. Stay tuned!
